In August 2009, Ovlov Marine Pine Harbour Ltd proudly opened its doors for business at the Pine Harbour Marina. The brand new building in the hard stand is now operating as the authorised Volvo Penta dealer for the Manukau City area.
With a showroom and workshop on site, the team, which is lead by Phil Jarvis who manages the sales, service and repair work, and with Theo Kon and Rick Grover in the service team, Ovlov Marine caters to a variety of needs from supply and installation of new marine diesel, petrol, and outboard engines, to rebuilds, repairs, servicing and locating those hard to find spare parts for older engines.
Phil Jarvis started his career as a diesel mechanic working on commercial vehicles for 13 years, including 3 years as service manager before making the shift to the marine industry. The last 10 years he has been responsible for the training and development of technical staff throughout New Zealand for Yamaha Marine products. Now working with another leading product Phil is keen to get more involved at the ground level to further utilize his skills to promote the brand and meet the expectations of our customers.
After finishing an apprenticeship as a welder/ boilermaker, Theo Kon went to work for a well respected franchised marine dealer where he started an apprenticeship as a marine technician. After 9 1/2 years he moved to New Zealand and worked in the mining industry rebuilding heavy equipment. After 2 years he has come back to the marine industry with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm.
Rick Grover started his apprenticeship with Ovlov Marine before moving on to other dealerships to enhance his knowledge with a wide range of products, including Mercury, Mercruiser and Suzuki. Rick has a vast experience on inboard/ stern drive petrol and diesel engines, also two and four stroke outboards.
The directors, Peter Jacobs, Lachlan Trembath (directors of Ovlov Marine), have years of marine knowledge and experience behind them and are excited about the new adventure. Peter Jacobs said, "We see this as a great opportunity for Ovlov Marine now and in the future. It compliments the business we already have and meets the growing demand in the eastern and southern suburbs of Auckland for more marine services".
